This is the summer of progress… I thought it would be fun to share some of my before and after photos of the work so far. This was the scene at my home when my friend Carol stopped by to chat the other day…she very kindly told me that my house was overwhelming – it looked like a bomb went off. The sad thing is it did…
This is the library/loft area and a good example of what happens when you decide to paint two bedrooms at once. It was a scary site for a few days – and a good reminder that just when things get so overwhelming that you think you will never get anywhere you are really on the verge of a major breakthrough…the same room two days later -
The Girls’ room during (I can’t believe I didn’t take before pics – the walls were actually a lighter gray of the dark gray trim you see in this photo (did I mention that I absolutely totally dislike gray trim in my house???)
Here is the same room a few days later… (forgive the PS photomerge stitchmarks – I was in a hurry this morning)…
The boys’ room before (during)
and after…
Did I mention that you can get some really great deals at Lowe’s right now on curtains and drapes? The drapes in the boys’ room were $5 each on clearance…
So those were my projects completed last week. On Saturday we started on this room…
I am happy to say that early this morning or late last night (depending on how you look at it) we had finished painting the walls (AND gray trim) and had placed enough of the new flooring to move the washer and dryer back into place. I still need to finish the edges of the floor and the grout on the tile countertop – but just having that gray trim gone is a GREAT feeling…
So many more projects on the list but once this is done (putting the house back together today) I am taking a break and catching up on some digi projects… I will see if I can sneak in some afters of the laundry/bathroom tomorrow…
My new mantra: Progress NOT Perfection.

Wow!! The after shots are awesome, you have done such a great job! Having been through all this myself, I know just how you are feeling. It’s okay to have your house look like a bomb went off when you’re in the middle of redecorating … no other way to get it done!
Great job, Kayla
