My Life In Gingerbread…

Running, running as fast as I can
I feel a little like the Gingerbread Man
School is almost out, our house is somewhat sold,
Everything on my to-do list
Has me feeling tired and old…
As of this week I am closer to 40 than 30 -
my house has been too dirty
I haven’t cooked a wink and yes there are [...]

This was the girls’ room last summer after I had painted the walls and remembered I should probably take a “before” shot…

The same room is now two bedrooms and a reading nook:

Bedroom at the top of the stairs (again in the middle of last summer’s paint job):

Library shortly after we moved in:

And today :

And lastly [...]

This was the project for Winter/Spring 2007-2008.  The basement before was a huge room with an odd traffic pattern:

We put a bedroom where the fireplace is:

The house is…finished!  I thought it would be fun to show you what the house looked like when we moved in compared to now.  This post is heavy on images so hang in there with me!

Beautiful Gardens…

At least once a year the kids and I visit Thanksgiving Point.  With over fifty-five acres to roam, we often spend the entire day doing just that.  For those of you not familiar with these beautiful gardens, I thought you might enjoy a few glimpses (all photos are from Thanksgiving Point’s site)….

The Secret Garden is [...]

It would be fun to be eating a late lunch at Ruby’s on Huntington Beach Pier with the kids.  I can imagine the looks we would get with all of our five kids in tow.  Sometimes it is more fun to watch people’s reactions to our large family than the actual places we visit.
I remember [...]

A Place Called Vertigo…

I sat in the doc’s office this morning and he asked if I felt like the room was spinning and I said, “No it is more of a shift and rotate kind of thing.” Then I felt really weird because it sounded like I was talking about how to transform an object in Photoshop…
The [...]
